About The Merryland

Misr AL Gadida Company is dedicated to leveraging and developing its historical assets, one of the most notable being Merryland Park, which spans approximately 42 acres.

The park has been divided into four development zones.

  • Zone 1 (14 acres) was developed and leased in 2021.
  • Zone 2 (10 acres) now hosts a restaurant complex.
  • Zone 3/4 are still under development.

Misr Al Gadida plans to proceed with developing the remaining areas, with the vision of transforming the park into a social, sports, cultural, and recreational hub for the Misr Al Gadida community and neighboring districts. This will be achieved through carefully curated activities that respect the park’s heritage and natural setting.

Historical Background

Merryland Park traces its origins to 1944, when it was established as a Horse Racing Club at that time under Baron Empain, who owned the land at that time. Following the July 23 Revolution and the nationalization decree, the racing club was relocated to El Shams Sporting Club, which was later renamed the “Equestrian Club”. In 1958, the site was redesigned as a public park and renamed “Merryland Park”.
